My name is Stewart Burnett. I’m a photographer, videographer, graphic designer, journalist and communications professional who has spent far longer than I thought I would in Canada’s North. But it’s easier to just call me a storyteller.

Most importantly, I’m committed to living a positive life and doing my honest best for myself and everyone around me..

I’m happy and grateful to be alive.

I’ve reported for a dozen newspapers from B.C. to NWT and Nunavut; wrote and managed Tusaayaksat Magazine in Inuvik; photographed and advised politicians as part of the Yukon Liberal Caucus; managed communications in beautiful Carcross for the Carcross/Tagish First Nation; and circled back to journalism for a unique opportunity as the bureau chief of the Kivalliq region in Nunavut.

P.S. I love rocks. I fell in love with Dallasite, a type of jasper unique to Vancouver Island, in 2013. I was sitting on a beach feeling depressed and suddenly realized what magnificent colourful stones were around me. I wear a piece of Dallasite around my neck almost all the time now. That rock saved me.
